Interesting.

I love it. Everything works together perfectly.

Out of curiosity, is this some type of kyrie?

I swear, that's what it sounds like to me.

Anyway, brilliant. Yet again, must be a high-end play.

Well...

Apparently, you have already read my review for this piece. But that will not prevent me from stating that it is indeed one of the most powerful choral works I have ever heard.

Well, a little late, better than never, though.

Sorry my review took so long to get to you. I've been quite busy on a piano suite. Overall a nice piece. Lol, it reminded me of those "EyeWitness" videos they used to have in the libraries.

Anyway, the off-beat staccato strings got a bit irritating, but other than those things, the rest flowed perfectly, beautiful flow.

I'm sure this was a very high-end production.

MJTTOMB

The quality of the sound... ick.

It's obvious that this was not played live.

The timing was extremely broken, sounded fake all around.

Ok I guess, also the fact that this is not original material kinda drags it down.

By the way, No one will buy your cd if you post all the soungs for free download here. ;)

Have one or two really good songs for download in demo form, so they can't just get it all for free.

Best of luck.

Yeyz!

Hmmm... Added timpani.

The staccato flute is out of tune. May want to fix that.

The horns sound brilliant.

Great job man, I really just don't feel like hauling my ass on two reviews in a day. sorry if I disappoint.

mechanoid-9 responds:

The flute is supposed to sound like that, it's a weird Japanese flute. I kinda like that detunedness.
Thanks a lot btw, and no prob, any review is better than no review at all.

You no likey mozart?

Oooooh. That hurts, man. That hurts deep. Although, he was way too brilliant for his own good.

A very nice piece. I have no idea how this sounds like Mozart. He was noted for his slow piano pieces. Did sound slightly like Beethoven, however.

Nice melody, nice harmonies as well. Well developed, sounded quite good. Alternate melodies would have been nice.

Not bad, but not great.

I'll settle with a 4 and an 8.

Could use a little more emotion in the strings other than whole notes. They like quarter and eighth notes.

Regards, keep up the good work,
MJTTOMB

Decerto responds:

Thanks! I was actually thinking people will jump on this peice and rip it. It was only a test for the new strings i got.

Thanks again! i'm sure to upload some more peices soon

My all-time favorite

I guess I'm required to go in-depth for this since it is in fact, the best song ever written.

-=)ORCHESTRATION / ARRANGEMENT(=-

Well arranged. Your use of all instruments was amazing. A serious lack of woodwinds, but they really wouldn't be very fitting for this song. Tubular bells and cymbals could have been implemented to a great extent and would have added so much. Timpani also would be great.

-=)MELODY(=-

A great melody and great themes throughout. A great counterpoint for the primary theme. perhaps a more obvious counterpoint for the secondary melody would be helpful as well.

-=)HARMONIES(=-

You implemented pedaling perfectly. Overall, great harmonies throughout. Your ability to use dissonance without sounding bad is absolutely breathtaking.

-=)FLOW(=-

It flowed very naturally, my only concern is the unnatural silence just before 1 minute.

-=)SECTIONS(=-

Very well laid-out, the development of the themes was wonderful.

-=)INDIVIDUAL INSTRUMENTS(=-

Okay, here's where I normally get tired in reviews, especially in long orchestral pieces.

-)Brass(-

In general- Very nice. Worked wonderfully with each other and with the strings.
Tuba- Awesome. Well used in the places it came out. Normally playing pedal notes, but still great.
Trombone- Not even sure you used trombones. :D Oh well.
Trumpet- Great on the melody, great all around.
French horn- I love french horns. Nothing else to say.

-)Strings(-

In general- Wonderful. Created wonderful ideas and carried the song perfectly. Your use of staccato and pizzicato were extremely well placed.
Harp- Great for presenting the idea at the beginning, and well used in the recapitulation. seldom heard in the middle sections, if at all. It would be nice to hear a few notes from it in there somewhere to insure the fact that the harpist is actually alive and not just asleep.
Violin- Wonderful as well. The high notes made for great tension, and the normal notes were simply beautiful.
Viola- Not sure if I could pick out a viola after the exposition.
Violoncello- Not sure I could make one clearly out at any point.
Bass- Same here, I guess I'm just not listening too well.

-)Percussion(-

Not too prominent as a whole, which makes this original. Most fiery songs to rely on percussion to help with the song, this needs very little to accomplish the same thing.

-=)OVERALL(=-
AMAZING, my friend. Hopefully you'll enjoy this review as much as I hated the work it took to write. 10 out of ten, and a 5.

Regards,
MJTTOMB (probably one of your biggest fans)

Good god, man
Thank you so much for this incredible review. I'm honored to get such an in-depth and still quite complimentary review from someone who knows his stuff! For all of you who don't know, MJTTOMB really knows what's going on. If you haven't heard his music, you're missing out.
But thanks again, man. You picked out the orchestration quite well, and you were really able to analyze it very well. Thanks so much for the review :)

Why does this always happen to me?

I wrote a great, huge review, and then my browser froze. Anyway, amazing piece. Seemed to get a little slow towards the middle to end section, but it still kept me awake, so it passes the test. I liked the effect of having the strings follow the brass by an 8th note, it reminded me of the hungarian rhapsody no. 2 by liszt where he uses the same kind of effect.

Brilliantly written. Check your pm inbox if you read this or already haven't.

Wonderful.

The harp and the Pizz strings were nice. I think your bassoon player passed out after playing like ten measures in a row. A nice theme. Could've used a little more variation. Quite simple, yet cute. It seemed to lose itself after mybe the first minute or so. Also a little short, but this is a first attempt. I agree with Winter. You need timpani.

Anyway, I have to give you credit for attempting a symphony. Very good. Kudos to you, mate.

Review back sometime. Best of luck with your future movements.
Regards, MJTTOMB

thx for the review I probally will revisit it later but for now I sorta have hung it up. It really isnt finished but I thought I would submit it anyways I didn't have a lot of bassoon unless ur talking about my 1st mvmnt lol. Though, if I get around
to it, in the third I will be experimenting with a certain type of harmony Iv been working on it sounds odd but it works.
