Well, it's been a while since I've kept you guys posted, but here are some things I feel I should be telling you guys about.
Firstly, I'm extremely pumped for the summer, because I'll (hopefully) get to hang out with my friends from a couple years back in middle school. Secondly, and most triumphantly (to quote Bill & Ted), I will be taking piano lessons over the summer, so the level of awesomeness in my songs may very well progress a little bit.
Secondly, I haven't been posting my music as often lately because I've been rather busy, and my writing process is extremely slow. I use theory and logic now, not random notes that have brought me popularity in the past. Although I'd love the popularity, I'd prefer to write music that touches the heart, not just the ears. I'm writing a piece, and I will upload it on wednesday. I'm already nearly done with it, I'm just working on finishing up at the moment. For the really hardcore fans, you can check it out on my ReverbNation page. I made this a fan exclusive song, so I think I'll start a policy of always uploading songs early, so only my ReverbNation fans can hear them. So, in the spirit of making me feel like I'm not wasting my time, please become a fan on ReverbNation, lol.
Thirdly, 127 fans. Woot!
Lastly, I'd like to let people know that I will be participating in this month's MAC. Also, if Simon-F does not win, I would like to ask you all to help me in bombing Canada in hopes of taking out MaestroRage for not realizing how amazing Simon's submission is.
Thanks for reading, folks!
Good Things:
Recently reached 116 fans, thanks guys. :P
One of my songs, "Jazz Waltz" was recently used in a very fun flash game that got daily first. Thanks to JohnnySedona for using it, and be sure to check out the game, "Drunken Masters". It's quite fun, and addictive, pardon the lame pun.
I recently got a piano at home so now I can practice incessantly here, and at school. Also expect some live recordings here and there.
I'm trying to be as thorough in my writing process as I can as well. As you may have noticed, distances between songs are growing, but that is simply because I work longer and harder on each one. So, you lose quantity, but you gain a lot in quality.
Speaking of the style of my songs, I am slowly weaning myself of depressing music. This is not to say in the least that i'm going to stop writing emotional, depressing music. That's still my strong point, but I don't want to turn into a one-act performer, and I'd like to specialize in both ends of the spectrum.
In terms of new songs coming up, expect two songs to be posted on Tuesday the 18th. Over the next week, I will be completing a cutesie little viennese piece. It's rather happy, and I think you folks'll enjoy a break from cutting yourselves to my music and break out the boxes of band-aids. The other piece is a chamber orchestra piece that sounds unnaturally like a lame disney song, so you can all take a break from cutting and bandaging yourselves to laugh your hind quarters off.
Lastly, Rule 10.
Thanks for wasting your time reading this, folks!
Regards,
MJTTOMB
Someone wiped the harddrive of my music computer at school. Assessing the damage, i had a few of the files at home, but songs like "On The Street Corner" and "God Rest ye Merry" seemingly are gone for good. the mp3's are still here, but I'll never be able to recover the sheet music.
Sorry folks.
Also on the bad news side, my music is experiencing somewhat of a recession in terms of popularity. my darkness suite's songs all have in excess of 10 to anywhere up to 30 reviews.
Maybe things will turn out a bit brighter soon.

Idk what It'd be, some piece that spans multiple styles, perhaps, with piano, ensemble, and orchestra, but yeah.
The program you use doesn't really matter, as long as it can export / import midi, or unless it's garageband 4.
So yeah. Just PM me or whatever.

I'll be hosting a separate blog there, and it will probably be updated more often. I plan on posting all of my music here first, however, as I'm allowed only 100 mb there. I also have a garageband account, but because of the difficulties of entering the review contest, I have decided not to hold onto that account for much longer. I would greatly appreciate anyone who stops by my mp3.com account and drops a couple reviews, as it'll help get a bit more publicity.
Thanks folks. :P

1 comment | Log in to comment! | Share this!In modern society, people have technology to make life easier. Although this may be true, it also is a large hinderance to the population. It causes dependency, it causes economic strife, and worst of all, it causes laziness. Technology causes more problems than it solves.
One of the largest problems with technology is humanity's dependency on it. The modern world is run by lights, computers, and telephones. This is a setup for disaster, as humans have no effective backup source for energy. If oil were to run out, global telecommunications would cease, transport would cease, lighting would cease, and civilization at its very roots may fall apart. Such dependencies should not be made, because when broken, everything falls apart.
Another large problem with technology is its production. Because of outsourcing, products can be made for a small cost. This is good for the american consumer, but in the end, it only perpetuates the cycle of small countries being subservient to the united states, so that these countries never have a real chance to develop into contributing societies.
The largest problem, however, is technology's purpose. It serves as a tool to make things easier. The easier things are, the less inclined people will be to solve a problem for themselves. Perhaps a good example would be a person who turns to a "Magic 8 Ball" to ask for advice on daily life. Humans are thinking creatures, and should not let machines influence their lives.
The laziness it also causes may be one of the reasons America is so highly overweight on average. The "Why bike when I can drive?" mentality makes the easier choice the most appealing, no matter how healthy the hard one is.
Technology has much to be proud of. It has forced an entire nation to its knees in dependence. It has caused small developing nations great strife in their quest to become contributing members of world government and economics. It has caused the human race to slow down, while giving them the illusion that they are speeding up. Technology has already created more problems than humanity will ever be able to solve.
Wrote this in about an hour for english class. What do you guys think?
